Open Water Swimming! 05Sep2020

The Duncan Swim Team's next session of Open Water Swimming is scheduled for Saturday Sept. 5th in Lake Cowichan, starting just down from the Kinsmen Park's "Duck Pond" with access from the Fields Department Store at 33 South Shore Road.  

--> when driving through Lake Cowichan approaching the large roundabout GO THROUGH and across the Car Bridge onto South Shore.  You'll see the Fields Store on your right shortly thereafter.  At the back end of the parking lot you'll see a small park with a hidden access to the River.  
Parents: we will be swimming predominantly down in the big pool this coming week.  If you're wanting to watch the group, the Car Bridge and Centennial Park will give you a great vantage point, a short walk from Fields.

In the interests of respecting social distancing, the Provincial Health guidelines, and SwimBC regulations, we will be offering this to our most sr swimmers (A/B/C groups) who are11yrs & Older only (sorry 10&Unders, this is mandated by Swimming Canada & SwimBC).

GUIDELINES for all new participants:

1. Families: please review the full DST Return to Action Plan with your Swimmer. 
   It is the Swimmer's responsibility to be aware of the extraordinary protocol that is necessary in participating in this program.  If your Swimmer is unable to accept this responsibility then please do not participate.
2. Swimmers must submit 2 x forms PRIOR to entrance.  Please email the completed form to brent@duncanstingrays.com:
   1. DST Participation Agreement
   2. SNC SwimBC Acknowledgment & Assumption of Risk

GUIDELINES for all participants:

1. Swimmers must wear the DST supplied orange cap (latex) for safety
   1. a single cap will be given to all to use. 
      For those of you who have already received yours: $10 for a replacement, $0 for a ripped cap upon return of the ripped cap.
2. Cost: $20 per session.  Spaces are limited so please use the Job SignUp space to secure your spot.
