20oct2021 UPDATE:  Message from the Host's Meet Manager

Hello,

We have opened up some of our positions for other clubs to fill.  Please share this link if you have anyone interested,

Volunteers must be fully vaccinated (two doses) and must be able to provide their BC Vaccination ID when they arrive for check in at the NAC.

....

We are looking like a bit of a "skeleton" crew for Stroke & Turn for this weekend.  (Halloween dad joke intended...)

Most of the sessions are short a few positions but the 12 & Under sessions in the morning are really short.  We need 4 more (of 8)  for Saturday AM and 6 more (of 8) for Sunday AM.  We do have a couple backfills on call but we definitely need some help.

If you have any parents that are going to be coming down please pass this info along for signing up as we have opened up the sign up to the public (other clubs),

15oct2021 UPDATE:  Message from the Host's Meet Manager:

Full Vaccination Required

For "regular" swimming programming at the Nanaimo Aquatic Center, swimmers under 21 do not have to be vaccinated.

The NRST Fall Invitational meet is not considered "regular" swimming programming and is classified as an event larger than 50 people (almost 200 people in and around the main pool).  All attendees (swimmers (12 and older), coaches and officials) will require proof of full vaccination.  

Fully vaccinated is two doses of COVID 19 vaccine.

For those wondering or asking, a negative COVID 19 test prior to the meet is not considered "full vaccination".  Full vaccination is the actual two doses of vaccine.

Proof of Vaccination

Proof of vaccination is the digital or paper BC Vaccine Card with the QR Code (see above link for details).

We will not be able to accept vaccination cards (the ones we received at the actual vaccination appointments) so please make sure that all attendees have their digital or paper BC Vaccine Cards ready for admittance to the meet.

Mask Wearing

***MASK UPDATE 2021/10/12*** Masks must be worn by all attendees (swimmers (5 years old and up), coaches and officials) while in the NAC facility.  The only exception for mask wearing will be for swimmers walking back and forth between the bleachers and the pool for warmups or racing.

Spectators

There will be no spectators allowed in the NAC as they count against the total swimmers we can host.  Only registered eSwimmers, Coaches and Volunteers/Officials will be allowed in the facility.  

Youtube Livestream

We will be providing a livestream of the event on Youtube that will be available during and after the event.  If anyone has any issue with being on social media (Youtube) please do not register for the meet.  This is the only way that we can provide a viewing experience for families and friends.

We are trying to bring together a very large group of swimmers, coaches and officials from all over the region in the safest way we can.  We want this to be a safe and successful event for all participants.

12oct2021 UPDATE: competition is fully sanctioned.  Please see attached for specific details.

The Stingrays will be (tentatively) attending the always fun Nanaimo Riptides Fall Invitational being held at the Nanaimo Aquatic Centre on Sat 24oct2021 & Sun 25oct2021.

We say "tentatively" for a number of reasons with the obvious pandemic we're all enduring; what will the PHO restrictions be?  
BUT what we can assure you: the Host Team: Nanaimo Riptides Swim Team have their facility booked and are working towards releasing their Meet Package.
